« The Hoka Rocket X Trail is not the trail version of the Hoka Rocket X 3. While both shoes share qualities of speed, efficiency, and a desire to make running feel more enjoyable, the realities of trail running prevent a carbon-plated trail shoe from delivering the same explosive s »

« The HOKA Rocket X Trail is basically a road super shoe dressed for the trails, and we absolutely loved its explosive ride. In our lab tests, we found an impressive mix of low weight, high energy return, outstanding cushioning, and solid durability. HOKA clearly went all-in on the midsole, and we think that decision paid off. The missing Vibram rubber surprised us, although grip is good. However, we can't ignore the premium price, tight toebox, and sky-high platform, which make this rocket better suited for specific runners than a wider audience. »
