« Altra had the chance to make a banger with the Torin 9, but it ended up only halfway there. The missing piece is the foam, which delivers far less bounce than we expected. On the other hand, we found in the lab that the shoe brings some welcome improvements: a lighter build, better stability, more flexibility, and a brand-new Vibram outsole for road running that makes its debut with this shoe. These are all steps in the right direction, but that bittersweet taste is still hard to shake. »
